I'm riding MC250F and started looking for SX125s. What was the best thing you noticed when you stepped down to 125 ? Was it worth it ?
I had always wanted a new 125, and the fuel injection was the main reason I bought it. It’s worth it, they’re so easy to ride with the fuel injection, it rides basically like a 4 stroke.
The Greatest Legend Motocross Rider of all time. I used to watch him growing up has a kid. He's riding the Best and Greatest Dirt Bike 🏍 of all time. Yamaha YZ 250. No#1. I'll be buying the Yamaha YZ 250X here in a few months. I used to own a Yamaha YZ 125.
What did you do to get rid of that bogging? I have a 2024 with 12 hours and it has that same issue, bogging when i brake tap, when im about to land and when i tap the clutch to shift. What did they do to fix this?
Make sure you’re up to date on all of the recalls, next run the vented side panel. The main issue with mine is that the squish gap on the base gasket was .05 off of what it needed to be making the piston detonate early and not reach the top of the cylinder, so after my first rebuild it ran amazingly.
i was a noob once till i got used too the clutch and gas and within two seconds i was a instant pro

It's interesting you both prefer the 250. Most of the other reviews say the 300 is more mellow because you can ride it like a 4 stroke. Maybe because his is so hopped up?
This one is pretty modded I think that’s probably why, there’s like no “powerband” it’s just straight power from any rpm position.

How is the gear ratio on those i got a gas gas 125 and dont know if just cause its starting the break in but i feel like 1st gear is the only long gear secund like cuts me quick i didnt even know i was on secund
I ride mostly 2nd and 3rd gear, 2nd out of corners and 3rd on straightaways and jumps, if everything is stock on the bike that’s how you should be riding it is without 1st.
@@FullThrottleEdits not that i have an issue with first its 2nd up. Gears are super short i dont even feel the same pwr band at all is like i can only rev to like half the rpms and need to shift to 3rd
@rigobertorosell you should be riding it wide open in all the gears shifting a lot, that’s how 125s work. If you watch my videos on mine I’m constantly shifting but never shift above 3rd
@@FullThrottleEdits i got 2 85s for my son this is the first fi bike i gotten. And i know and riden i dont think im explaining myself properly sorry. But yeah i will have to shift above third for sure jusr because i have no range on rpms after 1st ill see if can do a vid its only got less then an hour thats why i was asking maybe ecu cutting rpms for break in or something
@@rigobertorosell it shouldn’t be cutting rpm’s for break in, if you’re fully revved out it does have a rev limiter that you will hear, maybe the break in fuel is too rich and not letting it rev out?
Nice review man! I race desert and ride out at glen helen and have literally never bottomed out with more than 140 lbs in the air forks on any of my 3 ktms (21 125xc, 23 450 xc-f, 23 250 sx). Something to be aware of is that there's different valving between the SX and XC bikes, not sure which you have on your 250 4t but wanted to mention it. The XCs are valved much more plush in the midvalve than the SX and require different pressures which is shown in the manual. Of course this doesn't matter for 24 XC bikes which have the spring conversion. I have 6500s on my 23 250sx and definitely recommend if you have the means. Theres also a few nice KYB conversions out there, which I'm planning on trying out for my other 2 stroke. The 450 is staying put with the air forks and I'm installing the JBI midvalve kit for it to handle chop and square edge a bit better.

Well I would personally recommend a 250 four stroke just because it’s easier to learn to ride since you haven’t done it in a bit. Modern 250 2 strokes ride like 450s.

The new fuel injected 2 strokes I will say are way easier to ride than the carbureted ones. Otherwise all of the brands are pretty good for 250fs
@@FullThrottleEdits I used to have a 2006 Honda crf 250 and a Honda cr 125, I preferred the 250r power deliverance better to get me over big jumps hah I’m thinking Honda or Yamaha 250f
@DoubleWaterFire Hondas are really good but you’ll have to revalve it right away because they’re valved insanely stiff for any weight, Yamahas corner really well but their motors on the 24s need a little help in my opinion

hello, based on your experence, what 250 4t do you recommend to ride? Im riding on yz 125.
I prefer my ktm, they have more top end power than the Yamaha. The Honda would probably come in 2nd. And then Yamaha just because their new platforms motors need some work with the new airbox
can you turn off mapping and ride normal these newer bikes scare me but in the market for a ktm 125 unsure what year to go for
You have to have mapping for fuel injected bikes, it’s a computer, it has to know how much fuel to send to the motor. These bikes run good now, you won’t have an issue with a 23+

how does the honda compare to the orher bikes you have. i picked up a 2022 crf250r and set it up for hare scramble trails. once i got the suspension working right for off road i sold my 2021 Husqvarna te300i. i love the honda and i have had a bunch of hondas over 20 tears.
I had a 2022 crf250r, bone stock the suspension is valved way too stiff. The ktm ergonomics were way better for me but I would still get a Honda if I had to, it would just need a revalve.
@@FullThrottleEdits it is very stiff. I have been revalving my own suspension for 18 years and this one took me a few tries to get it where I wanted it. the shock has a short shaft and the forks has gotten so large I had to valve it the lightest I ever valved one other than the Husqvarna that came super soft, too soft. but when I got the Honda sorted out it turns so good thought tight trails and is so much fun. fills light too

Did you check your spring rate on the schock? Maybe its keeping the rear high and pusing the front low

@runtimmytimer yea, my 250sx doesn’t pull as hard in 3rd so that’s why I stayed in 2nd. If I get the chance again I’ll just ride in 3rd
How does it compare to yz250 2stroke?
In my opinion the Ktm is way easier to ride, way smoother with the TBI, easier to clutch, almost zero vibration on the Ktm. The electric start is nice as well, I’d choose the Ktm over the yz any day.
